Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is a nationwide competition. Students compete in up to 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, math, and engineering. Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student’s interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events. Students compete in Science Olympiad with the top teams advancing to National levels.

This Year's Competition:
February 28, 2026 University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL

We’re looking for a few enthusiastic STEM-minded students to join our Science Olympiad team for the State Science Olympiad competition event on Saturday, February 28 at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. 

Families will be responsible for transportation, food, and accommodation before and after the event. The HCMS STEAM Team will provide lunch, snacks and chaperones during the competition.
